“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.”
This week I really needed a miracle from God. It didn’t have to do with me per se, but with another person whose situation weighed heavily on my heart. I prayed—and I mean hard—several times a day. The ordeal lasted a full week and ended in a miracle. Suffice it to say that God put together people and events in order to bring about my answer in a way that I could never have done. In fact, it was marvelous to watch!
One day when all this was in play, I read the verse above. GOD IS… ALWAYS READY TO HELP IN TIMES OF TROUBLE. I happened to look up the phrase ALWAYS READY in the Hebrew language it was written in and found that it means ABUNDANTLY AVAILABLE. Not just available, but ABUNDANTLY so! That one phrase gave me something to chew on for the rest of the week. As the answers to my prayer came in and the victory took place, I saw this ancient and timely promise unfold before my eyes. God had been there abundantly.
Do you need that kind of God today? I encourage you to lay hold of the promise of God. He is there for you…abundantly. Seek Him in prayer and thank Him for the answer. God is greater than your mountains and He will send an answer!
2 So we will not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea.
3 Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!
